A playfull performance for an office space. It transforms its functions, objects, and habitual users, and reveals the poetry in computers, printers, paper, and coffee makers

Field Works-office is part of a series of intimate and playful performances that seek to infiltrate various areas and layers of society with artistic work. Codes and conventions associated with different types of spaces are explored and discussed. Every location generates a certain kind of expectations and preconceptions about how we act in that specific space.

Field Works-office is the result of a collaboration between Avdal and Shinozaki, sound artist Fabrice Moinet, and comic book artist/performer Brynjar Åbel Bandlien. Together they explore the mystery and poetry of the (social) environment. How do we absorb space, and how are we absorbed by it? How does the environment influence our behavior? This performance identifies poetry in computers, printers, piles of paper, and coffee makers. Sounds, drawings and movements subtly transform. Bodies and actions start to transcend their usual borders. Entering this office, we encounter a lively world, where real employees and actors mingle, closets and drawers open and close, maps change place, paper start to fly, … In this intricate choreography of office supplies and performative actions, everyday situations suddenly become peculiar or absurd.
