Japanese lighting designer
After a career in architecture design, Ryoya Fudetani began working in stage lighting design as well as lighting for live music performances, installations, photography and architecture.
His wide-ranging output of design and theory are engaged polyphonically through each different project.
Fudetani received the Japan Foundation Asia Fellowship 2016 and a study grant from the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2018 to work at Kaaitheater in Brussels.
He created designs for performances by Ula Sickle (BE/CA), fieldworks (BE/NO/JP), Pietro Marullo(BE/IT), Koen De Preter (BE), Rotterdam Presenta (DE), Choy Ka Fai (DE/SG), Contact Gonzo (JP), Wen-Chi Su (TW), Yola Yulfianti (Indonesia), Surjit Nongmeikapam (India) and many others.
